During this year’s Soirée in the City, we will be honoring Dr. Beth E. Richie with the Dr. Natalie A. Stephens Visionary Award, which recognizes the work of far-sighted leaders who have made a powerful and lasting impact on the issue of sexual violence in Chicago and beyond. Dr. Richie is a University of Illinois at Chicago professor with an expert background in African-American studies, criminology, law and justice and gender and women’s studies and Director of the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy at the university.
